Itinerary

The following are the main areas the day trip will take you:

Victoria Falls: Victoria Falls is the world's greatest sheet of falling water and significant worldwide for its exceptional geological and geomorphological features and active land formation processes with outstanding beauty attributed to the falls i.e. the spray, mist and rainbows. Visit the Zambian side of the falls. See the falls from upstream the Zambezi river, headland across the knife edge bridge, and if you have the energy walk down to the boiling point.

The City of Livingstone & the Livingstone Museum: Livingstone is the Southernmost city of Zambia and an early settlement. It is home a number of important historical buildings and the Livingstone musuem. Established in 1934, the Livingstone Museum is the largest and oldest museum in Zambia. It is located in the heart of Livingstone. It holds internationally significant collections in Zambian archaeology, history, culture and natural history and provides an important insight into the natural and cultural heritage of Zambia. It is renowned for its important collection of David Livingstone letters and memorabilia.

Mukuni Village: Mukuni Village is a Royal village nearest to the Victoria falls. It is home to the Leya - an indigenous tribe of this area . Chief Mukuni has invited visitors into his village to get a glimpse of how his people have lived for generations and to learn about their traditional customs and beliefs. The village guides will be more than happy to show you their huts and take you inside, explain how they are built and decorated, introduce you to various craftsmen and women at work and ask you to taste some traditional foods and drinks.

Note: Mukuni village is a working village, and not a purposely built tourist attraction, it is a privilege to be welcomed into their lifestyle.

Musi-OA-Tunya National Park: Bordered by Livingstone town, farm land and the Zambezi River, lies the wildlife area of Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park – one of Zambia’s smallest national parks. It extends from the Batoka Gorge and continues for about 12km / 7.4mi along the Zambezi River, above Victoria Falls. Livingstone itself borders several ancient wildlife migration routes and river crossing points, some of which are still frequented by elephants. A few of these fall within the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, where wildlife can be found throughout the year but elephants especially during the drier months.

The Livingstone day trip has three day tour options:
